Sharp is one of the Rochester native who studied clarinet at the Hochstein School of Music. Sharp also played piano as well as cello. Sharp received a scholarship towards The Boston Conservatory for her love of school theatre. Cum Laude's B.F.A. was awarded to Sharp following her graduation. Sharp began her journey to the stage.
